GRATTAN FREEMAN HOLDINGS PROJECT- 2011/2012
Whilst completing her degree Sharan was asked to take part in a project sponsored by 'Grattan Freeman Holdings' in 2011. Sharan's role was to design and manufacture a garment which embodied the fashion of the 1912 era.
Sharan also had the job to design a digital print that would represent the entire fabric for the garment. The digital print was based on the jewellery and accessories sold by the company in 1912. To celebrate not only a decade of the company's success but also the history of its products.
MANNEQUIN PHOTOSHOOT
2012
Sharan was asked to take part in a exciting photoshoot, Sharan's role was to design the garment and style the shoot. Sharan constructed the dress using the "paper mache" technique. The garment was made entirely out of paper and glue which created the stiff and structured figure to resemble a 'real-mannequin'. Sharan then painted the paper bodice several times until achieving the right tone. For the styling Sharan came up with the idea to create life-size jewellery using Ping-Pong balls to create a replica of a pearl necklace. Sharan styled the necklace with a life-size 'tape measure' and a range of smaller necklaces.
Sharan was overall very pleased to have participated in such an exciting shoot, and was also given the opportunity to edit the photos. The 'Client' was very happy with the photos and felt it achieved exactly what she wanted from this shoot.
